And the reason is that in the past, we both once allowed someone in our lives to get that close, and what happened? We got poked in the eye.
Now, we’re so blinded to people’s good intentions that we mistake them for bad, and this has caused us to rear back just at the moment when something great might happen to us because we’re too afraid. We try to conceal this fear of commitment by, well, being overly committed to things (like writing), which never quite works out. Oh, and we both have beards, though his is redder than mine…I’m envious of that.
At heart I am so-o-o-o-ooo Todd!
Richard Knight completed this novel as an undergraduate at Rutgers University’s Newark campus where he struggled to get it published at a younger age than the Great Russian novelist, Leo Tolstoy, who completed his first novel at 24.
Richard is 23 and looking for a publisher in time to wrestle Count Lev Nikolayevich Leo Tolstoy to a draw. Born and raised in Dover, New Jersey, Rich has left his home state beyond the tri-state area on only two occasions--one to go to Disneyworld and the other to go Georgia. Neither time he can remember (He was a baby both times--thanks mom and dad!)
While a fan of writing, he also loves to invest his time pouring over old Kurt Vonnegut books (his hero!) and other titles that have probably been long forgotten and are ripe for the stealing, er, revisiting. He also loves comic books, video games, MySpace, Asian women, and just about everything else quote unquote normal men his age like. And in his spare time, he also does standup comedy...Rich very much dreads the day when he'll have to give it all up to support a wife and 2.5 kids. His writing ranges from comedy to somber/serious, at the same time.
